Sure, Andre Agassi wasn’t hurting before this book deal. But, $5 Million bones is some serious cash. Random House Inc. won with the bid in both hardcover and paperback to publish Agassi’s life story.
The book has to sell over 500,000 copies to break even.
Agassi is now in exclusive company with people who have gotten a ton of money for their life story. This list includes Harry Potter, President Clinton, and Alan “pimp daddy” Greenspan.
The juice in this book is said to include hardcore information on his rocky marriage with Brooke Shields, his current love fest with Steffi Graf, and growing up in Vegas (hopefully with tales of hookers and crack).
Interestingly enough, Random House Inc. was the fourth highest bidder. The highest bidder was said to be at $5.35 Million bones. However, this was a Saudi Prince who wanted to lick Agassi’s dome as part of the deal.
